Ms. Michelle Reynolds began her career at Kiski Area School District in 1992 and has been a proud Cavalier since her own school days; she is a member of the class of 1988.  Ms. Reynolds holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education, Social Studies, and a Masters of Education in School Counseling earned at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  During her 28 plus years with the district, she has taught Social Studies at the High School, has been a school counselor at the High School, and is currently proud to call the Kiski Area Intermediate School home as a school counselor.


In addition to being a school counselor at KAIS, Ms. Reynolds is an active member of the school’s Student Assistance Program and advisor of the Giving Club.  During her time at the High School, she worked with Ms. Antonucci and a wonderful group of students to create the CAVs SLAM Club, which shares the goal of the Giving Club to make a positive impact on the school community.  She is First Aid Mental Health certified as of the 2019-2020 school year. Additionally, Ms. Reynolds is a member of the Westmoreland School Counselor Association. 


Ms. Reynolds resides within the Kiski Area School District with her son Logan, and their dog Nemo.  Logan is currently a junior and a member of the Cavaliers Wrestling and Track teams.

Ms. Michele Claypool, a 1991 Kiski Area graduate, began her career with the Kiski Area School District in 1996.  Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Secondary English Education (1995) and a Master of Science as a Reading Specialist (2000) both from Duquesne University.  In 2004 she completed her Secondary School Counselor Certification at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Ms. Claypool has been a sixth grade elementary education teacher, seventh and eighth grade English teacher (during which time she  embraced the role of KAIS yearbook advisor), and then took on her current role of school counselor at KAIS.


In addition to being a school counselor at KAIS, Ms. Claypool is an active member of the school’s Student Assistance Program and a co-founder and advisor of the Giving Club.

She is First Aid Mental Health certified as of the 2019-2020 school year and is a certified facilitator of the ROX program (2020), which she plans to implement at KAIS in the 2020-21 school year.  Ms. Claypool is also a member of the Westmoreland School Counselor Association. 


In addition to enjoying her work as a school counselor, Ms. Claypool enjoys traveling, reading, Zumba, and spending time with her family - especially with her son, Grant.  She also enjoys working at the High School’s athletic events where she gets to connect with her current and former students outside of the regular school setting.  Ms. Claypool resides in the Kiski Area School District with Grant, their dog Bo, and their bunny Nibbles.
